R & R

We are taking a long weekend. Basicly this means there will be no one at blue moon land to answer the phone.

We will be back to it on Tuesday all refreshed and ready to rock and roll.

Have a great weekend all and be safe!

best laid plans and all…

To those of you waiting for the Felted Kicks pattern that is advertised in the Interweave Knits magazine, I apologize.

Despite my best intentions, that pattern is not quite ready. It will be another 2 weeks before it is up on the website.

I am to blame. I remember the exact moment, when I decided to run that ad. I went and looked at the pattern and photos and decided I had plenty of time to get it ready to roll.

And then you know what happened?  I did not put it on my list.  I know blasphemy. So, it took a detour way past my very full memory bank, right into a big black hole. Not to be thought of again until I was leafing through said magazine. Imagine my surprise.

I made up some new words!

To make sure this does not happen again I am programming in a back up with Cassie and Tim, the wonderfully talented graphic designers I work with. Back up is always good!

Most of the time I do learn from my mistakes.

(You can stop laughing now.)

Color Ready!

The photography has been fixed. The colorways are back to their saturated goodness.

In researching the cause of this little snafu, I finally discovered the missing cog in our web photo wheel.

So color wise things should be looking up from here on out.

The only thing left to go up which should be there today is the Grinchy Grouchy kit.

Thanks for your patience, you are the best!

Upgrade update

Amazing what a few hours of sleep will do.

The pictures of the colorways are a bit off. They are showing as washed out and not their true vibrant saturated selves.

We are working on this and I hope to have it fixed soon.  I apologize this is certainly not how I like this to roll.

We still have to add the Grinchy kit and pattern otherwise I believe everything is there.  Just not accurately colored.

More testing and proofing today.

Dudette 1 and 2

It was so interesting and entertaining to see all of the responses to choosing which Dudette for the Dude. It also backfired on me.

I really do need to watch how many colors are available on the site because of time, space …  just the reality of making everything work well.

As I was reading through your responses,I felt so thrilled that some of you were getting the dilemma I have in choosing between colors. However the more I read the more I realized there was no way I could not put both of them up.

I do not like sad knitters and certainly not my knitters. (Did you know you were my knitters?)

So the surprise is, The Cookie Next Door, is actually Dudette 2. Which means they are both present and accounted for!!

Personally, while I like them both I have to say, and this shocked me completely. I prefer The Cookie Next Door.  ( I know! hehe ) Never going to get tired of hearing that one.

Below are swatches of the them both. Could not resist.

I have to confess to knitting Cookie first.  I had to she was taunting me. Whispering my name every time I walked by the basket.  And no, I could not have moved the basket.

You should have heard it, “Come on, knit me you know you want to. Look at this pink ( the color you say you do not like but is everywhere on the site) and brown, don’t you want to see what they will do together in stitches.” On and on it went.  I admit it I am weak.

So very,very weak!

Knock on wood!

I know, that by saying this out loud, I am inviting the chaos of the cosmos to rain it’s fury down blue moon’s way today.

Nonetheless, here goes. We are on schedule (pause, wait for it… oooh is that thunder?) and today jb and I will be uploading images and info onto the site.

This will take hours.

(In reality we are having thunder storms today so who knows.)

So, while we are doing this anyone want to count the votes on the dudettes?

hmmmm… you know you do.

Website uploading tunes to start…ooh, I know, The Commitments.

I will yell when we are done.  Please wait to order until then. Combining orders in this system–not possible.

And I have a surprise. So if you do not peak it actually will be a surprise.

ok

Spreading my disease

or sharing the love? You decide.  Below you will find two versions of Gingerbread Dudette. Long awaited companion for Gingerbread Dude. I keep my promises!

He and I cannot choose between these two lovelies, they both are so sweet. Since we can only have one of them this go around, you get to choose.

Which one would you like to see go up on the site on Monday (or Tuesday)?

They are labeled 1 and 2.  Put your vote in the comments.  Then when the update is done you will see which Dudette is going to hang with the Dude this season.

Dudette2

I will be very interested to see how this plays out. The one I chose is completely out of character for me.

Actually that is why there are two of them. The one I did first was really not my cup of tea, so I made another.

ok, yarn ball in your court!

New pricing

Ok, here we go. I understand more of why this does not happen as often as it should. I hate doing this part of the job, thoroughly and completely.

Interweave Fall Ad

The Fall Interweave ad has the following patterns and colorways in it. I am going from left by the spine to right.

1. Solstice Slip pattern in the Firebird colorway.

2. Knee High to a Grasshopper pattern in the Walking on the Wild Tide colorway.

3. Salish Sea Sock pattern in the Bella Coola colorway. (available December 2008)

4. Circle Socks pattern from the Fair Isling on Blue Moon book in two different Rare Gems colorways.

5. Serendipity pattern in the Dragon Dance colorway. (available January 2009)

6. Rock’n Weave pattern in then Fairgrounds colorway.

The colors in the ad are just a wee bit funky, not so true to form.

Behind the Homepage

I thought you would enjoy seeing the mayhem that often accompanies the photo shoots here. This one was especially fun.

Oh, and thanks so much for the well wishes I am feeling much better, almost human even.

image

pretty but not it!

image

Ahhh, someone did not work in that end.

And who put that car there?

image

All our socks in a row

we even have a pair.

image

I know, let’s try it this way…

image

and whose brilliant idea was this?

image

Where hilarity ensues and no one falls off the bench.

I wish I had a photo of them getting on the bench.

Our socks models here are Joann, Rosie and Sophie in colorways Grimms Willow Wren , Spring Fling, Flower Power, Storeytime and Ms La Rock.

So sorry!

I will not be at the Seattle Stitch’n Pitch this evening or Tricoter today. I have gotten hit by some awful bronchial plague and have not been able to will it away.

Denying that this was kicking me to the sidelines has not worked either.

So I give. Not even going to worry about color selection today. Going back to bed.
