RSC signup glitch-S

IMPORTANT UPDATE 12/16/08

One day when I try to streamline a process in order to make all of our lives easier please just hit me over the head it will actually succeed in doing this.

As of today there are still declines for some of you. We are still trying to figure out why this is happening. Please bear with us and know that you will get in so no worries on that front.

The system is bogged down. Please do not hit submit over and over.

This system is pre-authorizing your cards. We were told this meant just validating them in fact it means it is holding those funds. Since I told you that we were not charging the cards this is leading to some confusion and problems in relation to available funds for the holidays.

I cannot apologize enough for this, it is not what we thought was happening. If this is a problem for you and you have not registered please wait and do so after the holidays. If you have already registered and this is a problem please contact me; and we will take the preauth on your card off. It does take a few days to release those funds back to you please keep this in mind.

What we do know is that there are browser issues. We think we have addressed this issue. You will need to clear your cache before trying again because it does have the old script stored there. and that is what it keeps pulling up.

I think that covers it and again I am very sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you. It certainly was not our intention.

    What a beautiful day…snow on the evergreens and on the beach, pretty little finches eating seeds from the bird feeders, watching the snow fall so silently and gracefully.  My dogs run out and then they freak out.  The baby yorkie barks at the falling snow flakes.  Just too sweet and simple.  I’ve checked the site numerous times today and it just went through so sweet and again simple like the falling snow flakes.  I’m looking forward to year 4 and all the excitement it brings my way.  I very seldom get out much anymore.  Just to the store for bread and milk and fresh veggies.  I like simple and I love the sweetness that life brings to me.  Thank you Tina and all the sockateers for another wonderful year of amazing color and fiber to tickel my fingers and my senses.

    I’m in Richmond, VA and I’m still getting declined no matter what card I try. I was hoping to get signed up before I leave teh office. Oh, well. I’ll try again later tonight or tomorrow …

  7. Apparently the servers ran out of JustJen’s brownies are in a cocoa coma.

    I think at this point, the strategy should change from making tea and breathing deeply to singing cheesy camp songs and show tunes.  Maybe yes?  Maybe not?

    In any case, in a weird bit of cosmic chance, my registration went through fine supposedly (knocking on my faux wood desk).  Maybe ‘cause I live in crazy Cali?

    After searching and fretting all day long, I do fret well and for fun some days, I finally got signed up tonight…. Yippeeeeee, I can play again next year!!!!!!!!

    Just letting folks know that as 8:04pm EST, the system let me (from Canada) sign in.  I assume the international signups are now working.  Thanks very much and so sorry you’ve had such a rotten day.

    Tea works well, Teana! I have been ejoying tea for days from the comfort of my SIL house on Cape cod i will happily be joining the Domination next year! especially since my kids hav been sporting my rockin socks all week end to guard from the cold we expeienced at home. Yup, center of the east coast ice storm!! looks like a week before we get power, meanin no school too!

    The site hates and it seems has decided “no socks for you”, sigh. I was so looking forward to doing this…I have to feed my child and finish up christmas knitting-this is cutting into the schedule (yeah I have a time table)

  19. Still no luck for me (Canada) at 6:30 pm PST.  Now, instead of a message declining registration, it just resets the screen back to blank boxes.  Never fear, I won’t give up!

    Sigh.  Same problem as Jule.  Submitted twice (9:30 EST) and still didn’t go through – back to blank screen.  And I missed it last year.

    I’m still having that ‘resetting back to blank boxes problem’—I’ve had that happen twice now, after a whole bunch of ‘declines’ earlier in the day—I really really really want to get through but I’m getting worried because I can’t tell if I’ve bought anything or if I’ve accidentally bought a half-dozen Sock Club memberships for myself (I may be a yarn pig but I only want one!!!)…

    (I e-mailed the ‘sockclub@’ e-mail address earlier this evening, but then I retried because I saw it was working for other people… still didn’t work… sniff…)

    I have had to stop trying to register for the sockclub, because I am not sure if my membership applications are going through or not. After a whole bunch of “declines” – I finally was able to get through without a “decline” – but once I submitted, I just got a blank boxes application form – no email acknowledgment, no “success” or “done” screen. So, I have no idea if I am registered or not, or whether my credit card has been charged a whole bunch of times. So, I am going to quit for tonight and hope that something has gotten through and that I’ll get an email or some sign that I am registered. Will I be getting an email telling me whether I am registered or not? Is someone checking to make sure only one charge has gone through on my credit card?

    Yay,it worked.

    At first,I was surprised to watch the blank screen and thought myself

    to check my e-mail box.

    I didn’t recieve any e-mail from sock club and I tried 3 times, finally I’M IN!

    It’s 130am CST in the Midwest, and it wouldn’t accept my registration.  Maybe if I try again using a browser other than IE…

  27. Daft question but are we charged now or in January as in previous years?  My card keeps coming up as declined but that will probably be because of lack of funds and not the merchant error LOL

    *cries a little* It’s still not working for me here in Canada.  I’ve tried with both IE (the newest version and the version before it) and Firefox and I’m still getting declined.

    I feel like we should send you a collective hug because the universe is walloping you with glitches. Maybe the tea is not strong enough and you need to move on to chocolate. Slowly calmly things will get better….you have a fantastic company and an amazing talent.

    Sweet success at last! My membership application and credit card finally got accepted at 6:37pm EST today. I am in Canada. I only hope that my credit cards haven’t been charged for all those attempts at submitting yesterday.

    Thanks for working so hard at getting the problems fixed! Looking forward to 2009 and first delivery!!

    Looks like all is getting right with the world and whatever voodoo you guys pulled is working!  I’m in and the site seems to be running smoothly in general on my end.  Yay and congrats!  Go have a nice glass of wine!  I can’t wait for next year!

    I hope the issues are resolved for good now for everyone else!  Good luck, all!

    I think I’m going to wait for the excitement to die down a bit then try again. The way I understand this we should have plenty of time as long as we sign up before the end of the year. Sorry glitches seem to cause problems year after year. As someone said earlier it wouldn’t be BMFA sock club if there wasn’t something that happened with sign-ups.     Yay it worked this morning and I got the gift membership for my mom.  I don’t know if it the system isn’t bogged down @ 7:30 EST today, if something new got fixed or if was the fact I cleaned out all my internet files but it worked :D.  Now mom has her big gift.
