Barn Sale News Flash

Phew!  That was a whole lot of dyeing in a very short time.  We looked at each other last night and just laughed and laughed. It is actually the most fun here these times where we are just slammed. Most of us and especially the me of us handle stress and exhaustion by getting goofy.

The kind of silliness where an innocent comment is totally taken the wrong way and insane hilarity ensues.

Like the little hot pink accident I had on Wednesday.

Online Sale

There have been some questions so I thought it would help if I addressed them here for everyone to see.

When exactly are we activating the code?

We are activating it at midnight Friday (PST) evening that magical moment when Friday mysteriously turns itself into Saturday.

Will we crash the server?

No, you will not. We have a very big dedicated server and I have been assured all is well on this front. It did gives us the opportunity to come up with some awesome, “my server is bigger than your server” juvenile humor. So thanks for that. Of course, my server is sooo bigger than your server! (sorry could not resist)

Is there enough yarn?

I love this one. I also have that yarn nightmare where the yarn runs out or that the little sheepies go on strike or some other such wool disaster will happen. Rest assured this is not that time. We have yarn, lots and lots of yarn.

Please keep in mind that your order might take a wee bit longer than normal because of the numbers. All the elves that usually help us get this done are out helping Santa.

I think that covers it for now. If you have any other questions let us know.

We are ready!

My dirty little secret

I know that by outing myself here I am about to drop several pegs in your woolly esteem. I have to admit this makes me a bit hesitant and certainly more than a little ashamed, but truly I see no other way out. So, my knitterly friends, here it is in all its novel glory . . . my deep (all the way in the back of the storage pod deep) and oh-so-dark secret.

See the yarn in the photo above? You see what it is, right? Yes, it is what you think it is. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. It is novelty yarn. Not just one kind of novelty yarn either, but several. A veritable smorgasbord of out-of-the-box type “yarns.” We have railroad track yarn and flaggy/stringy yarn and bumpy yarn and sparkly yarn and . . . deep down in the pod . . . even a bit of (you better sit for this one – it is shocking) furry yarn.  I know . . . I know (and honestly I really have nothing to say in my defense).

Well . . . except that it is fun, really fun, to dye. It takes dye vibrantly, well, and you can do wild and crazy stuff with it. During that whole over-the-edge-scarf-knitting phase when some of us might have fallen a little bit farther over that slippery slope than was good for us, we made lots of wild and wacky scarf kits that are a simple, fast and satisfying knit. Especially good for the holidays (see where I am going here?). So, for those of us who might be a wee bit time-optimistic (delusional), these were and are a great way to fill in the gaps in in our well-intended gift knitting dreams.

We are dyeing our (Ok, my) stash of this for the barn sale on Saturday. We will be bringing lots of swifts and skein winders so you can, if you choose, build a scarf out of some of this silliness. You also have the choice of just purchasing them and putting them together in the privacy of your own home.

OK, so I have completely and thoroughly outed myself. Anyone else out there with a secret yarn obsession they would like to share? Just between you and me, of course.

Stay tuned for a yarn/price list for the sale and some production shots. image
