Surprise Stash SALE

In the immortal words of the depravedDyer Tina, “We will have a lot of yarn for sale.”

Blue Moon is having our annual de-stash in less than two weeks. This is your chance to browse the bounty of the barn and find a colour, make that MANY colours, that are perfect for you. And, yes, Virginia, there will be Mill Ends.

Here are the details:

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

10:00 – 3:00

Scappoose Creek Inn

53758 West Lane Road

Scappoose, OR 97056

(503) 543-2740

www.scappoosecreekinn.com

(Please note, the sale is NOT at the BMFA barn.)

If you’re coming from out of town, you can stay at the lovely Scappoose Creek Inn. I can personally vouch for its loveliness.

We’ll do our best to keep it more peaceful than Boston’s Running of the Brides at Filene’s Basement or Black Friday sales. That said, get there early, because the frenzy begins at 10:00. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.

For those of you who can’t make it to Oregon for the sale, we will have something for you too in the not-so-distant future (think Rare Gems). Stay tuned to this here blog for more info.

Well, there’s so much that I want, but I live in Ontario-in the north-4 hours north of Toronto. I’ll be awaiting further announcements with bated breath. Is it ALL sock yarn or will other yarns be destashed? Just wondering…

    Cheers and red wine, Hazel.

I was wondering if someone was going to provide knitting patterns for ballistic helmets, body armour and bullet proof vests. I thought maybe STR heavyweight knit on 1.75 mm. needles might work since I can get ALMOST bulletproof fabric using STR lightweight and 2.00 mm. needles.

Always willing to be of service, Tina. Don’t you just love the fact that the Energy Saving Lamp has exactly the same vocabulary and sentence structure as Judy Becker? However, The Ballistic Helmet is my favourite so far. “In the ensuing gun battle…”-those are desperate knitters from the sounds of it. Enjoy Knot Hysteria-a change from spam central.

    What about Nomex fire-resistant yarn?

It exists and is used for fire-resistant socks worn by auto race drivers.  The socks I have

seen look liked they are knit at an EXTREMELY fine guage by machines.  The yarn used looks like it takes 3 or 4 strands of it to equal STR light.  The color seems to be any color you want as long as its white, pretty much.

This is NOT a spam, but a serious post.  I suspect that nylon does not take dye so well.

  67. bladeless fan Since new is a fan of reform transformation, from the appearance of it more in terms of fashion sense, more useful features than the more comprehensive fan! !

    Characteristics of bladeless fan

bladeless fan biggest difference is that it does not the traditional fans of the “leaves”! Use of non-leaf fan turbo jet engines and vehicles in the technology, through the bottom of the inhaled air suction hole, the ring hidden inside the edge of a wheel to put the air emitting a circular path, eventually form a non- continuous cold air stream. Important is that the air flow generated by the wind than the average fan is more stable. The amount of air it produces the best performance on the market the equivalent of the fan. Because there is no fan film to ‘cut’ the air, you will not feel the impact and excitement. It is through continuous air flow makes you feel cool. The non-leaf fan with variable frequency speed while the size adjustment device, user adjust the speed according to the size of the actual situation, to increase air flow evenly and will not impact on voltage, low energy consumption, energy consumption is half the ordinary fan. Because there is no fan, this fan not only looks cool, but also more secure than traditional fans, while shaking his head, speed control and other functions are also comparable with the latter.
