Giving Thanks

Today is the official day (in the United States) set aside for taking a moment to count our blessings and feel thankful. It’s a day most of us spend time with our families and loved ones. Mine is still asleep as I write this. As soon as I am done, I’m going to make fresh pot of coffee and we’ll get on with our day together.

I consider myself a very lucky woman. I’ve a roof over my head, food on the table, a job I love, I have knitters!, I have wonderful friends who love me and I them and a family I treasure.  One cannot really ask more than that.

I feel gratitude for this life of mine in some way, every single day. It is my goal to live in way that expresses that gratitude in thought, word and deed. Sometimes I am successful, sometimes not. I’m most definitely a work in progress! One that even needs frogging every once in awhile. We call them do overs in my family.

I just wanted to take a moment this morning, on this day of thankfulness, to say a huge heart spilling over thank you, to all of you knitters, spinners, crocheters, dyers, weavers… who have touched my life. You’ve enriched my world in ways I am keenly aware of and some I might never know. I want you to know that I feel so blessed by you and I am forever grateful and colorfully yours always!

I leave you with two of my favorite quotes on gratitude:

“We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” – Thornton Wilder

“ As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.” John F. Kennedy

Have a loving day.

Thank you!

Tina

  1. Happy Thanksgiving Tina,

Beautifully said.  Your crucible of gratitude spills over and flows outward colouring the rest of the universe in all the colours of the rainbow.

May you and yours enjoy together the bounty that this day holds for you as you spend it together.  This is in and of itself something to be hugely grateful for.

In turn, I am grateful for your presence that touches so many.

    Love and blessings,

    xxoo Naomi Belle

I love the concept of frogging one’s life–something I have sometimes done unconsciously, and something I will do in the future with greater mindfulness.

Now if I could just achieve greater discernment between what’s a design element in my life and what needs frogging!  wink

I am grateful for you and your wonderful yarn and gorgeous color sense and for sharing it with me at Knot Hysteria.  I am fortunate to be able to attend an event like that and learn from the amazing teachers there.  Thanks !

love the quotes also. Living your words is so much more important than uttering them alone.

    Tina,

You have opened my eyes to see a whole new world. I am grateful for you and your talents.

As I work to know when to K2tog vs. K1,P1 I appreciate your authenticity as a person.

Also, Sorry about the comment regarding “pink” at the closing of Knot hysteria!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I had to comment on the photo.  Is it just my failing eyes, or does it look like a heart drawn on a CEILING of sand?
