Crabby Hues

Slider_Crabby

All along the Pacific coast are these cute little crabs. I think they are called Purple Shore Crabs. They live in the rocky places and are kinda shy so you have to be a little stealth when seeking them out. I love watching these guys scuttle around. There’s just something about them that brings a smile. We found these in Sausalito in our recent trip to California. Sophie and I were both enthralled and could have watched for hours. Besides being charming little creatures, they are beautifully colored. Pretty little crabby hues!

I so much want a skein of Purple Shore Crab! Please Pretty Please with natural dark turbinado sugar on top!? Gosh, Tina – the things you see!! Who else would notice the gorgeous colours of these little creatures? I’m so gald we have you to translate the natural world into tactile beautiful yarn for us. It’s like being in the “design room” of the great Devine! Oh – I just thought of something! My WHOLE rare gem mill end order could be experiments of Purple Shore Crab! That would be thrilling.

I will echo Sophia’s comment. The salmon/teal is calling me. I fondly remember shopping in Sausalito way back in the 1980s.

I’m sure the lovely little crab will find himself memorialized in a colourway in the near future!

    Cheers and red wine, Hazel.

Actually, the first thing I thought of when I saw the photo was that I really liked the colours. Unfortunately, the second thing I thought of was garlic butter. Bad, bad, Hazel!

    Cheers and red wine, Hazel.
