Good times!
All of us here at Blue Moon want to thank all of you who came to play and shop this weekend. It was such a great time. I hope all of you had as much fun as we did! If all of the smiling faces are any indication I would say a good time was had by all!
We started here:
And quickly filled the space with a whole bunch of fiber-type fun times!
We had beautiful colors together, talked a lot about yarn, knitting, color, spinning, indigo, lichen, gardens, our families and last but not least chickens.
All of you dyers did such a wonderful job on your yarns and fibers. As production dyers, whose main job is to create and follow repeatable recipes, it’s crazy amounts of fun to throw away the book and color outside the lines for a few days. I can’t wait to see everyone’s fibers spun and yarn knit up ~ that’ll be in a couple of weeks right?
Thanks again for letting me share my obsession love of color with you!

Lots of fun and totally worth the trip!!
Totally worth the trip indeed!
I had an absolutely wondrous time and learned so much about so many things. Even got to watch a chicken take a dust bath then get up and waddle away. Ha, Ha, they are such amusing creatures!
If you have never attended one of these events, I highly recommend it. Tina opens up her barn and extends her arms in a huge welcome to all that come. There is an opportunity to mingle with other like minded fibery people, join in the conversations, shop for great yarn/fiber bargains, dip your hands into an indigo vat, cosy up to all the colours of the rainbow at a dye work table and best of all, listen in when Tina is expounding on the virtues of colour and how to translate that rainbow onto yarn.
This will not be the last time I make the trek from the other side of the 49th.
Thank you Tina and all your Blue Moonies for the welcome and assistance throughout the weekend.

I had the best time, Tina! If I could dip everything in the indigo pot, I think I would, because all those different blues? My favorite color ever! The yak turned the most amazing greeny-blue, the silk took my breath away, and Silkie & indigo? I want a thousand shades of blue just in that base. I’ve got 3, only 997 to go! Thanks for inviting us over (and let’s not talk about the sale part of the day, ok? Because the plan was to only buy fiber to dye. Oops.).
