Trick or Treat?
Smell my feet give me something good to knit?! Does that work? I think it does but it has been pointed out to me that I am free and easy with the essence of poetic license.
It’s HALLOWEEN!!!
Happy Halloween all you ghouls and goblins. In honor of all that is Hallowed we have a few tricks up our sleeves. Just a few not many. It’s way too busy in the dye barn for too many. We have added a dyer and a new production person. Welcome Sarah and ~ wait for it cause it’s really awesome ~ Teena Fay. We’re pretty tickled!! We’ll see how the two Tina thing in the barn works out.
The poem below is your hint. It’s a bit of a where’s the skein game. I think the poem is pretty clear so I am not going to give more clues because we know knitters are very very smart. I always think these games are going to take forever and we’ve been all sneaky and then one of you gets it in 5 minutes. Oh…although on the one you have to find it and guess it’s name. Ok that was probably too much.
Paula and I will keep posted on this all day and if it looks like it’s too hard we’ll give you more clues.

You can submit your thoughts here in the comments section. We fixed the problem we had during last weekend’s contest so it all works well and good. I had it tested a bunch to ensure this was true. Go Beavs! was renamed All Hallows Eve!!
Spirit colorway C—- is the mystery skein…my guess is Carlin, Scottish spirit of Samhain.
First, the colorway All Hallows Eve!! is a new name of an older colorway (Go Beavs!!). This is the “writing on the wall” clue as the name change is explained there.
Second, under the Spirits colorways section, there’s a skein with the name C—–. This is the skein with the “nature to be revealed soon” and I think the name of it is Carlin, the spirit of the eve of Samhain (Halloween).
The color way Go Beavs was changed to All Hallows’ Eve (writing on the wall) and Spirit color way C is the mystery skein. Maybe Carlin?

From the Spirit Collection: C—– and I’m agreeing with the previous two posters Carlin the spirit of the eve of Samhain. Is the colorway spirited from the color orange? Cause that would be AWESOME!!

I think Go Beav’s has changed to All Hallow’s Eve and the new Spirit colorway C….. could be named after a transparent spirit/ ghost and as clear as a crystal ball could it be ‘Claire’ meaning clear/bright

Doh! I don’t know what is wrong with me, I was trying to name the
actual new Spirit colorway and not the Halloween fun one!!

I think the spirit colorway could be Casper (the friendly ghost) too, but it has been done.
Well, I’m a little late to the game, but Go Beav’s has been renamed to All Hallow’s Eve. I also think the C_____ Spirit name will be Casper too.

Oh wait, I just had an idea occur to me as I read the poem again. “Clear as a crystal ball, the writing is on the wall”, could it be that this clue is actually saying the name of the skein is written on wall of the Blue Moon website? If so, maybe the new skein is going to be named Crystal.
Oh and I agree with Janis that it be Claire, which does mean ‘clear’ which is also written on the wall of the Blue Moon website.
Hallows Eve used to be Go Beavs and C—– is so Crystal clear that I hope crystal is it’s mystery name.
I’m a little confused about this contest. All Hallow’sEve has gone back to being Go Beav’s and the spirit colorway with the C______ has disappeard from the website and there is no spirit colorway that begins with a C. The only colorway yet to be named is the Knitty Contest Colorway and I could have sworn I saw a name for it yesterday. Hmm…..
Oooh! Spooky goings on Pholly!!!!!!!!!? Yeh! What is goin’on? We are either nowhere near the right guess or ??? What I don’t know.
Hurry up and give us more clues,
If we are to (correctly) guess those spooky hues,
Are we all way off the mark,
Or are you just keeping us in the dark?

We all need the answer to this ‘spiritual’ mystery.

Yay!!! I see that too. And it looks like you and I were among the first three to guess that.
No not really I wrote down my thoughts but didn’t really see what was in front of me until I logged off and then when I logged back in a-chan had already said it!
So if it is Casper and a permenant Spirit, and as far as I can see it looks like it is a lovely delicate, natural Ghostly hue – the wraithiest of wraithlike hues almost like porcelain!
Yes, a-chan was first, but the contest says the first 3 to get it correct win. It looks as though that would be a-chan, you, and me, in that order. But someone could have emailed their guessed in too. So, I’ll guess we will have to wait and see who the first 3 really are.
