Boo!

Scared you didn’t I?

Sorry that it’s been awhile since I was here in any real sense. The last part of this round chemo got a bit rough especially with the holidays thrown into the mix. Good news though. Chemo is done!!! Yay!

Now I get 4 weeks off before I start my 6 weeks of radiation. I don’t mind telling you I need the break.  There are quite a few things I’m looking forward to now that I’m not on my cancer cell destroying healing cocktail and one of them is new colorway creating and knitting. I’ll tell you, one of the most frustrating parts of this last drug is that one of  the side effects is neuropathy in your fingers and toes which is painful, weird and makes knitting (the finger part not the toe part, hehe) not the wonderful stress reducing creative outlet that it usually is. Awful right? I don’t mind telling you that it took a bit to wrap my head around that one. I had a few chats with the powers-that-be about their wicked and seriously twisted sense of humor. Alas, as is true most times with powers-that-be, they were unimpressed.

So… since it’s going to take me a bit to create new hues for us all. We thought, while I am on my new hues mission, to first take down the holiday colorways on Tuesday the 20th and then… for all kinds of fun, to put up colorways we have not seen in awhile.  A bit of an oldies but goodies kind of thing!

We’ve had quite a few requests over the past few months for some of these colorways like Fluorite. Cobblestone County, Minestone and Carbon Dating, which is what inspired this idea. I’m pretty excited because some of these are on my personal favorites list.

I love, love, love Cobblestone County.  Oh, oh, and Marbles, don’t even get me started on Marbles, I was so completely obsessed with this colorway for so long it’s all I wanted to knit with. Oh and then there’s Mesa. Okay, you get the idea. I can see how this is going to roll for me though, Debra is going to have to hide yarn from me again. Oh well, there are worse things eh?

If there is a Blue Moon colorway you have not seen in a good long time then this is your chance. You can let us know by posting it in the comments section here.

If for some reason you did not get an email from us or see the RSC and Facebook posts I want to mention here that Rockin’ Sock Club sign-ups are live and still open. So if you want to get in on our 10th Anniversary sock knitting party you still have time.

We will be closing it down sooner than we have in the past few years so we have a bag count for Queen Bee Creations so don’t wait too long.

I have been going through our sock club archives both digitally and knit-wise and it has been all kinds of fun to see where we’ve been, the fun we’ve had and the accomplishments we’ve made.

socks

…and then there are the socks.

So very many socks!

Bins of socks.

It never fails every time I drag out the bin of socks the delightfully whimsical Dr Seuss’s, Fox in Socks starts to go through my head.  All those foxes in socks and chicks with bricks and of course Mr Knox sir with slow Joe Crow sewing Sue’s clothes and Sue sewing hose on slow Joe’s nose all while those silly tweetle beetles battle in puddles with paddles!

Have a lovely weekend!!
