As of this evening we have sent out all of the Teacher proposals, the Sponsorship information and the Vendor information requests. Because we send them as bulk emails they sometimes get spammed out so please check your Junk email boxes for our notices. We also had a bit of a glitch with the sponsorship email. Something about plain text and then it plugging it into the teacher form instead. We resent these this evening. I apologize to those of you that will receive duplicate emails because of this little tech-glitch.
It will take us awhile to go through all of these emails so bear with us. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. It would be helpful if you could add the email addy that you are expecting email from us to your address book. This will ensure that our notices get to you in a timely manner and that you will not miss out.
Stay tune more info to come soon!

Did everyone have a good time trick or treating? I saw the cutest 8yr old (?) gypsy last night. So cute all heads turned, every eye was on her. Watching her reminded me of all of my own different dress up choices as a child. As I was thinking back through them I realized that I usually chose to dress up as one of the same three, gypsy ( my favorite, lots of color and bells), witch (love the spells and black) or hobo ( easy!). The hobo came from stories my beloved grandfather told me. Which made me wonder if this is true for most of us and what it says if anything, about who we are as “grown-ups”.
Which brings us to today, the day after Halloween. The day we are all recovering from our costume wearing partying and massive sugar highs. A day that we all here in Blue Moon land celebrate heartily. The day the Rosanna Donna Richmond was born exactly 21 years ago. If you knew Rosie you would get the awesome symmetry of her birthday being the day after Halloween. Let me tell you a bit about this extraordinary young woman.
Rosebud (nickname) loves life and lives it to its fullest. She appreciates all those moments that most of us miss. I love how she can take something that appears mundane and make it magical. She does not believe in maps because you never know what you will run across when you are “lost”. Because lost is a state of mind and certainly not a state she resides in. Rosie is one of the sweetest and loving souls I have run across and being in her presence just makes you happy. She is named after the Gilda Radner character in SNL. She loves music--LOVES music and is a loyal fan for the bands that she follows. She loves robots, zombies and super heroes and...chickens. She dresses up all the time. She and her friends pick themes and dress up and wander the streets of Portland, shedding light and happiness to all they encounter. My absolute favorite is her super-hero costumes.
I went into the barn this week looking for pacing/thinking room. She wanted to know what was up . I told them I was trying to come up with a photo prop for the monkey contest. She looks at me with excitement sizzling in her eyes and says, “ Tina! I have my superhero costume in the car?! (the, well duh is implied in her tone) Look she was soo right.
Here she is our very own Agent Awesome at her best! Where she knits in a lift at the World Forestry Center, feeds the giant squirrels and cracks us all up at Camp! Oh, and the top one where she is dusting monkeys!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSIE!! WE LOVE YOU LOTS!!!

Why, yes it is. It is knitting. Something knit by me for a friend. I might not have a lot of time to do it but I do in fact knit. It occurred to me as I was finishing this very simple little scarf that I was sooo had. You see this dearest of friends accused me of never finishing anything. Well, hellooo have you not been paying attention. A wee bit swamped here and .. the dyeing and the sock club and the sock camp and now the sock summit and you know I just might be insane. Really it has occurred to me recently that I really might have a screw or two loose. Ooops, got off topic. I was just a tad offended by this accusation. So I did what any over achiever will do when faced with such a challenge. Instead of just making a swatch, which really all I was intending to do, I kept going. I did not realize what I was doing until I looked at it and saw that it was turning into a pretty long swatch. hmmm… I believe at this point I had accomplished my swatching goal, but could not make myself stop. (I swatch a lot, it is something you do when your business is about the yarn and the knitting.) Well fine, I will make a scarf. It is LSS and will feel very nice around a neck. Warm and soft and silky. I know I will make her a scarf, I’ll show her. Right? In walks Sophie my 11 year old and asks what I am knitting. I tell her my tale and she just stands there shaking her head and grinning at me. “ Oh Mother” she sighs. “ Are you really this easy?” Well, evidently I am. Too funny, still chuckling over this as I wrap this scarf up to mail out today. It is quite lovely and will match her coat really well. It will keep her warm and remind her that she is cared for. It tells her that her friend (me) is easy and capable of finishing something and maybe, just maybe is a wee bit of a child.
Whatever the twisted logic behind this little project it was fun. The yarn feels so great sliding between ones fingers and the color kept making this cool X thing. Simple but fun stitch pattern. Mindless knitting, my very favorite kind of knitting these days. A swatch scarf. I think I will now go swatch a sock.
