And the winner is…

Thank you to all of you who entered our contest.  Thank you so much for all the votes.  It was quite wonderful to watch the votes as they flew in. This was so much more successful and fun than either Steph or I could have possibly could have imagined and we have some pretty big imaginations.

Thank you and congratulations to lucky our number nine, Michelle, with her fabulous swashbuckling pirate sheep.  You won Michelle!
We’ll be emailing you about your prize.

As I was scrolling through all of these beauties again this morning I kept thinking how everyone who entered should be proud. You did magnificent work!  We know knitters are talented. We both see it every single day. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect such a spectacularly varied bunch of pirate knitting graphic wonder.

I am so moved and inspired by your entries that I’ve decided that all the finalists should get a skein of sock yarn, for appreciation.  We’ll be emailing you for your addresses later this week.

Thank you all!

Your Camp Cast Away T-shirt Finalists

First of all, thank you so much to everyone of you, who took the time and energy to submit an entry to our contest.  Steph and I had such great fun watching all these wonderful entries as they came in. After the first few it was obvious to both of us that we were going to have our work cut out for us, but when we ended up with more than thirty submissions, we knew it was going to be really, really hard to narrow it down, but somehow we did. We used printing guidelines and contrast and all sorts of things to make up our minds - which is good, because if it was just about which ones we liked? We’d never have gotten it down to these.
As we’ve said before knitters are a talented bunch - our humble thanks and a round of knitterly applause to everyone who entered.

We’ve numbered each entry for voting. You vote by picking your absolute favourite one. Please identify your favourite by its number, and leave that in the comments on this post. One choice per knitter please.  You have until the 12th of March to cast your vote here.
Without further ado, your finalists:

More Sock News: Sock Camp, a contest and Sock Summit 2014

Sock Camp ~ Sock Summit
Unlike the age old adage, which came first the chicken or the egg, we know which came first here, and that is Sock Camp.
We’ve been getting a whole lot of requests lately wanting to know when the 2012 Sock Summit is.  So far both Sock Summits we’ve held have been spaced with a recovery and planning year between them. After hearing from the OCC about dates for 2013 Steph and I decided to have a bit of a think about just when the next summit should be. We’re still in the process of deciding specifics but our slightly superstitious hearts think Sock Summit 2014 has a really nice ring to it.  I’ll also cop to having a thing for even numbers, they just seem so much more tidy.  We’ll keep you posted on specifics as they happen we know them.

In the mean time, we are doing what we do every year and what Sock Summit was born out of, our beloved Sock Camp, the place where sock knitters dreams are made. As I said in the previous post (right below this one) we’re knitting pirates this year, joining Steph and I as we pillage our way around the sock is; Carson Demers, Lucy Neatby and of course first mate Debbi Stone aka cockeyed the pirateer. We’re still waiting on Carson and Lucy’s pirate names. If you need a sock summit quick fix then sock camp is for you.
You can read more about what we have planned right here: Camp Cast Away Registration information is also there.

Alright then… off to swab a deck or two.

ps. I swear the new colourways are coming soon! Also some wickedly wonderful camel/merino/silk blend spinning fiber.
