CAST ON!

image

This is Cat’s cast on for her Peace and Hope Moebius. She plans to be knitting this slowly, completing it in four years. When she asked me to join her I said yes. Yes, because it is lovely and yes, because that is timing I can manage.

As Cat says, a Moebius represents the true essence of the human heart, which knows that although we may seem to be different than one another (like the apparently opposite edges of the Moebius which are actually one single continuous edge, and the “sides”, which seem to be opposites, but are likewise continuous) we are one. One glorious potential for compassion, kindness, integrity . . . for all that transcends personal limitations and reaches instead to embrace all of humanity, and this fine green planet we live on. If you too would like to cast on a Moebius to slowly knit over the next four years, have a look at Cat’s Youtube video which will guide you on how to start: youtube.com/watch?v=LVnTda7F2V4

  1. 4 years!  I don’t think I cast on enough stitches for mine to last that long. ;D

But, Cat’s video tutorial is great!  Makes it very easy peasy to do.

I cast on my Moebius as well, but since I want to wear it to camp, I will finish it soon (hint hint), but in Cat’s vein of thinking, I will try to have a moebius on the needles for the next EIGHT years. Thinking peaceful thoughts all the while.

I’ve always wanted to make one of these and I LOVE the thought behind it so I will be casting on, also! I hope to stretch it out to eight years. I plan to make it in Pride, the colors of the rainbow.

i don’t think i can consistently work on *any*thing for eight years (hence my avoidance of a phd program), but i love the idea. maybe i’ll aim for a charity sock marathon or something. hooray! happy america!

    Hello Everyone,

I’ve just cast on my Obamoebius in some luscious Fleece Artist hand painted silk that has been in my stash for over 5 years.  My most favourite thing to knit is a Moebius and I usually get started and can hardly wait to finish the magic.  I will however with this one, savour each moment and work with it slowly and mindfully over the next four years.  It is so lovely to know that one can sit and knit sacred geometry, work the energy of peace and hope and know that the ripple effect will touch everywhere on this planet.  I truly hope that there will be a multitude of these started and worked on over the course of the next four years.

    Peace and love to all,

    Namaste,

    Naomi
