So much color and so much talent. As I said earlier this has been such a joy
One of the things that’s been super about the whole Sock Summit thing (and we think the fact that we can still think of super things is a very good sign) is the way that every time one of us has a big idea, it’s caught on like magic and spread like wildfire. One of the most fantastic things has been the Dye for Glory contest over at Ravelry - which accomplished exactly what we were hoping, that dyers would get a little face time, that we would all get to see some of their clever work and that they might sell a little yarn and boost their businesses. (I know that worked because one several of my favourite skeins didn’t win and I still intend to hunt them down and buy them in the Marketplace.)
In the end, 14 557 people voted and 154 828 votes were cast, and the masses have spoken.
Hop on over to the Results Page and you can see the grand and glorious winners, and if you’d like to see them in person, we’re going to round up a skein of each and put them in the Colour me Crazy Booth for the whole world to see. Congratulations Dyers. We love the way you do things, and a thousand thanks to Casey, Jess, Mary-Heather from Ravelry. You’re pretty freakin’ awesome too.

Yay for results! I had my fingers and toes crossed for The Knit Witch. Is there any way of knowing which of her yarns was a runner up?

Yay! What a treat it was to see the work of all those dyers together in one place! And Georgia Peach was one of the winners? Cool, I pre-ordered some of that the moment I saw it in the lineup. It will arrive here about the time I’ll be up to knitting again post-op. My little celebratory corner of Sock Summit, arriving right here.

Thank you for the chance to pimp my yarn in front of everybody on Ravelry!! I had a blast participating in Dye for Glory. A few skeins of my special colorway have already sold, and a few more are spoken for. I’m a happy dyer today!

On a complete aside (the yarns are fabulous by the way - I so want the weasley sock yarn but am a little too far away sadly....) I notice you have a Flylady duster! Sorry - just had to say as I got very excited.

I would love to be able to see the stats and vote counts for the losers, too. I’m dying to know who was runner up!

The Dye for Glory was one fantastic event, for sure. I want to thank you for all you did and gave up so that so many knitters could have such a wonderful week-end. As far as I could see and others could see everything was just perfect. What a fabulous idea!

Art out of yarn, huh? Well I guess that there’s someone out there who can find artistic design in just about kind of material. This is pretty crafty and innovative I’d say!

Over 14,000 votes on yarn? That is pretty wild to me. I’ve never heard of someone creating things like this out of yarn. Pretty cool.

The mosica dyed winner’s creation is really beautiful. Look at all those colors! It’s almost like a tye-dyed t-shirt wrapped up in a roll of yarn.

These are really cool! I think my favorites are ThreeIrishGirls “Zephyr” and Becoming Art “Twilight”. But they’re all really good. I’d like to see more of these in the future

You have so many beautiful crafts, I wish I had come across your blog sooner. My sister loves to sew and knit and I can bet you that she would love to compete in these kinds of things (I’m more of a ceramics person myself).
