SALE EXTENDED

posted by tina
December 8, 2008

The USPS online system is down. This means that your orders are not going through. DO NOT PANIC!!  What we will do is extend the sale so everyone gets their chance.
We are on the phone with them now and trying to find out when this will be back up. As of now we do not have that information.

So I will post here when it is back up and we will extend the sale for another 24 hours after that time.

Of course this would happen just in that magical way the world goes around. I wish you could hear the laughter here over just how ridiculous it is that this should happen right now.

Obviously the universe has quite a twisted sense of humor.

Breathing, we are all breathing. Deep cleansing relaxing breaths of knit filled air!

My goodness!  So many knitters want yarn that the entire USPS system went down.  Go figure.  I remember the knitters once overwhelmed the banking industry, too smile.

That’s just more time for people to order Twisted and sign up for the Twisted February Lady Sweater Knitalong on Ravelry.  Join in!

Hmmmmm....extending the sale..... just when last night I decided I did not need to place a second order.  Maybe this is God telling me now I have time to decide and place a second order?  Don’t you think?

I ordered before the sale using my 10% RSC discount.  Perhaps the system was down then as well.  Waiting, waiting. . . .

Oh, my!

Oh… please no more temptation. I was so good at the sale and really paired it down to things I need. And then I came home and fell off the wagon and ordered more. And now there’s this temptation…

Joining you in deep breathing… deep… calming… yarn-fume-filled… breaths…

I was going to say maybe JustJen can bake you more caramel brownies, but maybe that might put you all in too much of a cocoa coma instead of calming everyone down.

It’s a good think Leslie & I combined our orders early this weekend.

I don’t mind waiting for my package to be dyed, packed, and shipped. I’m just wondering what affect USPS being down has to do with the first 2 parts? You’ve already told us it will take a bit longer for all these massive orders to ship out so I get that. If I got an e-mail confirming that you’ve received my order I’m assuming it’s in the hopper and will get shipped when all is right with the USPS world again (and it’s packed provided it was in stock and didn’t need dyed up special). Looking forward to my yarn when ever it gets here. BTW can we order more than once if we decide we didn’t order enough the first time? (Like that’s happened to anyone. Ha-ha) Hoping for smooth sailing the rest of the season and waiting not so patiently for signups for next year and camp. Hugs everyone, Alice

Alice my dear, for those who have not placed an order the USPS system being down means that their orders will not go through, so they have to wait until it is up and running again.  For everyone who placed and order before as you did then you are good to go. And yes it will take a bit as of this morning we were are just a bit over 500 orders to process.

And of course you can order more than once.

ROFLMAO!  Yes, I actually AM amused that this should happen!  I’m trying to be good and stick to the measely few that I asked Nartian to add to her order for me!-whoop!  I outted myself!  I mean, “I was sooooo good and resisted ordering up until now.  I only hope I can continue to resist the temptation knowing that the sale has been extended!”

well Les maybe it is extended until you order. could it be that you are just this powerful and the USPS thing will not work until you order.

I managed to talk myself out of buying all weekend and then at 2:53 I decided that I.must.have.yarn.  So onto the site I went - where it wouldn’t work. smile I’ll still order, now I just have more time to figure out what!

Hopefully this unexpected break will make it a little easier on you at Blue Moon processing all of the orders. The gov’ment was just trying to break things up a little for you.

I wasn’t gonna order, wasn’t gonna order, wasn’t gonna order....and yet somehow I did.  And my order is now pending....or processing… one of those p-words.  I’m guessing that means that it went through and soon I’ll have more yummy yarn to mock me into knitting it.....

I’m wondering if maybe Celia’s right, and it is my fault?  First I tease Tina about camp info (she let me live, perhaps because I explained that it really was a tease because, really, she doesn’t already have enough on her plate?), and then I *did* make more brownies to take to the barn sale.

(And seriously, the captcha is “actually13”—so, actually, I’m bad luck?)

I have successfully (so far) managed to NOT order anything from the on-line sale.  Not looking, I’m not looking… especially since I went through the barn sale line twice (eep! that was my credit card you heard melting!)

NOT LOOKING!

(maybe just a little peek?)

Okay Tina I’m filling a second shopping cart but will wait until the very last minute to decide whether to “proceed to checkout”. I almost can’t believe you only have 500 orders. I tried to spread the word at my local knitting group last Thursday so I may have to make up for them and get some as presents. Does the 24 hours go from when someone here notices orders going through or from when you post the official “we’re back” post? Just curious. Hugs, and Happy Knitting, Alice

And here I had such a busy weekend (work, and a daughter rehearsing for Nutcracker performances this week) that I never got a chance to order, though I started filling a cart once but was interrupted.  So I took it as a sign that maybe I shouldn’t get any more yarn....
Now this is a sign that I SHOULD order after all?
We were all prepared to wait anyway!  All is well!

Oh, JustJen!  One must never ever blame the baker.  Never! wink

And notice, Leslie isn’t asking me if I want to throw in on her “second” order.  LOL!
