Every year when USPS changes ups the rates our antiquated Shipping module has a bit of a spasm. We then have to make it tea, hold it’s hand and help it through this change, which is what we are in the process of doing. While we do this today,it is not going to let you choose your preferred option. If you can hold of on your order until later today this will all we resolved. The website will be down for a few moments at some point today. It will be a mere moment, hardly noticeable at all.
Thanks for your patience!
In other news: My wood stove is not working and way below freezing here this morning.
Brrr… .
And… I made a very sexy dark and dreamy purple yesterday. I have a great big crush on it and walked around the barn holding it up to all the other colours so they could meet and see if they wanted to play together. They do! Rosie wants to paint her walls this hue, all of them.
It does not have a name yet if anyone has any ideas?
Now you have hijacked my work day....

It reminds me of the color everything gets stained when I am jamming (or cooking) with freshly picked blackberries so of course that color has a sweetness to me. Blackberry Heart isn’t quite right. Blackberry Dream? I need to stop or I’ll do this all day.

It looks like “Purple Majesty” potatoes. Beautiful!

Oh, it’s luscious. I second the blackberry reference. Blackberry obsession? Heart of summer? Blackberry season is always the height of my summer canning/baking/gardening.

I love that dark purple. Violetta or Violetta Velvet, is what that colour evokes to me. Like the dark velvety blooms of some African violets.

... slightly Twilight-ish, but “New Moon”? It’s the same deep purple as the sky on nights without moon.

Ooooh, I love it! Purple is my favorite and I have a little girl on the way in Spring, so I’m already envisioning what I can make her for next winter. This color looks perfect!
As for color, another of my favorite things are Marionberries. When I have friends go to the Pacific NW, I have them bring me back Marionberry Jam since you can’t get it anywhere else. So, my suggestions are: Marionberry Jam Midnight Marionberry

reminds me of a song-"When deep purple falls over sleepy garden walls” by Nino Tempo and April Stevens in 1963. I love it.

It reminds me of the dark purple at sunset just before it goes totally dark out. Very very gorgeous, can’t wait to buy some.
Name idea: Pleione (fast spinning purple star)
posted by Abigail Jan 27, 2012
It reminds me of the iridescant beetles that I find in my garden when I first start working the earth in the spring. Maybe name it after one of the beetle species here in the PNW. Barring that, I love the name Pleione suggested above

Like Kath, I was thinking something along the lines of “Tall, Dark and Handsome”...but the following also came to mind: - The Cure (Because it reminds me of Robert Smith for some gorgeous reason, plus there is very little that purple can’t cure) - Crush with Eyeliner (because it also reminds me of REM, even though Michael Stipe himself is bright Orange in my mind) - Lila (Because my co-worker highlights her hair a lovely dark purple)

Tell Rosie I had walls that color for years, big rooms with 14 foot ceilings in an old New Orleans House on Bourbon Street. It’s a wonderful color that changes it’s mood depending on the light.
Years ago, a psychiatrist friend of mine said that whenever he went to the institutions, you could count on all the hysterics to be wearing purple. For him, purple meant hysteric. So Hysteric or “Hiss"teric. If I weren’t rushing out the door, I’d work on wordplay. Handsome color.
