Yup, it’s that time again, the seasonal color wheel here at Blue Moon is turning. Below is the list of colorways that are going to take a wee rest. If you have any colorways wishes this is the time to voice them. Any colorways of ours you have not seen in awhile that you would like to see again let us know here in the comments and we will do out best to add them in this go around.
Here is your cast of colorways that are taking a bow and then off to rest. ( They will be back at some point in time. I do not retire colorways) Count Cluckula Highway 30 Treehugger Heart throb Tidepool Gypsum Storytime Gibson Spacedust Grocks Smoky Blue Easter Scramble Scaponia Cobblestone Cty Rolling Stone Alpha Rock Star Brauns Woods Pixie Park Bleeding Hearts Migration Cobalt Bloom Lochness Marbles January One Hurdy Gurdy
We will also be adding some new never ever seen before colorways. I haven’t even seen them yet because honestly I have not put them on yarn yet. They are still in my little color brain.. This whole sock summit thing is seriously cutting into to my relationship with color and dyeing. Shhh...don’t tell I am hoping it has not noticed.
Good night colors! Have a lovely nap. Some of you are already in my stash.
Can’t wait to see what’s coming up!

Lets see, colorways I would love to have back. My first choice would be Chickabiddy. My second choice would definately be Chickabiddy. My third choice… well.. would be… oh, you get the point.
Bring back the CHICKABIDDY!!!

I love this time of year! The changing of the colours is so exciting. Sad to see favourites go, but happy to meet new ones and welcome old ones back.
Can I request Chickabiddy, Fairgrounds, Seastone, Dixie Chicks?

Nooo, not count cluckula! it’s my favorite! LOL!!!!
Oh, I must do some shopping. Anyway, please bring back Chickabiddy.
I LOVE blue moon. it’s my favorite yarn. you are wonderful.

How long do I have? Bleeding Hearts just came back! It can’t go away so soon! I must check my finances. We can’t have this!

I don’t know if this was a colorway but I keep looking through BMFA for a Lemon Yellow semi solid. I have Sunstone and that is too golden. I want a lighter yellow, just a basic yellow that is light and semi solid. (not like Hoofle Foofle, I have that too and it is not that lemon color or banana color) Thank you

Is that the Tidepool that I loved so much from last year’s sock club? Must see if I can afford another skein right. Now.

I’d love to see Sherbet and Thistle make an encore appearance. And yesterday when I was knitting with Pride, I realized I was loving the way the aqua, yellow and orange colors were stacking up - any chance of seeing that in a future colorway? Can’t wait to see what comes next!

I’d love to see Knitty Rocks and Foofaraw come back. I can’t wait to see the new colors!
posted by Shannan Jun 9, 2009
As always I love every colorway offered, though if you brought back Fairgrounds,Cracked Canyon, Chickabiddy, and possibly Backstabber I’d permanently let BMFA have access to my bank’s routing number.

I was just wondering if that Peek-a-Boo Peony at the top of the blog page is a tease, and can it please be turned into a new colorway? Please, please?

I vote for Peek-a-Boo Peony too!

Thanks for the heads up--I just restocked Bleeding Hearts, which is one of the all-time-best colorways. I’d like to see more colorways with lots of vivid red. And I’m still eagerly awaiting the arrival of Prickly Pear.

I would love to see rhodonoite (got that in a monkey kit and LOVE it!), backstabber, mr. green jeans, sherbert, prickly pear (saw on ravelry), and hard rock. I may come back after I have time to check out ravelry--lol.

I can’t wait to see the new colors! Although I must say I am still basking in the glow of all the new coastal/beachy ones you just released recently.
But I wonder, will we ever see you re-visit your uncomfortable color red and see something more neutral, less warm, almost true red? But not so blue it goes pink like Lover’s Leap. Love Brick but it’s on the orange side and we all know Just Right Red is really Just to the Right of Red (aka Orange)!

Indian Paint Rock pleeease. I’m beginning to sound like a broken record.
your “little color brain.”
tee hee.
(Funny, except I suspect it’s like Narnia in there: may look little from the outside, but...)

I love, love, love your colorways (so much color: bright, jewel, neutral, ...)! Reds, rust orange, greens, on and on ... I love them all. So more of those, but I would love to see more shaded solids too. There are so many new patterns with lots of texture that would show up in more shaded colorways.

Braun’s Woods? Pixie Park? Storytime, Treehugger, and Cobblestone City? These are all intriguing names for colorways I haven’t yet seen.
Where have *I* been?
Sigh… and I thought I was doing such a good job of resisting stash enhancement lately.

Oh, my dear Tina, it is so good to see a new post from you. I hope this means you have almost completely dug yourself out from the Summit avalanche. Whew! Hopefully it will make your return to the yarn more sweet than ever.

I was just introduced to Blue Moon Fiber Arts at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival this past May. I wasn’t quite sure what the fuss was all about so I purchased two Mill Ends in the medium weight for a pair of socks. Well, now I’m hooked and I’m the proud owner of five skeins. I LOVE Heartthrob what a beautiful colorway. I like all of the colorways some more than others. So I need to hurry up and purchase: Cobblestone County and Lochness. I can’t wait so see them in person.

Add me to the list of people who are looking for chickabiddy! I love that combination of colors.
Glad to hear things are getting figured out on the Sock Summit side of things-- hopefully you’ll be back to dyeing soon!! Thanks so much for SS, I can’t wait until August. :D

Oh, I hate to see these colors go… But, I’d love to see some lucious, rich browns. Chocolate: Light chocolate. Dark chocolate. (I’m seeing a Cherry Cordial with delicious reds and pinks and chocolate browns.) Or Espresso. OR Cafe’ au Late. Or Mahogany. OR Teak. You get the idea. There is such a lack of browns in the sock yarn pantheon, and if anybody could do it well, you could...Keep up the good work!

I would love to see Cockeyed, Mr. Green Jeans, Foofaraw, Froggin - and I will add to those who would like Chickabiddy! I also would like to see the Prickly Pear that I have seen photos of!

You mean nobody’s noticed the twitch? The fingernail chewing, the glazed look in your eye, the listless movements? Surely Deb, Becky and Annalea have been looking at you strangely and making pointed suggestions about going to the dye pots. Way past time to go get the “book” and go have some FUN! Go forth with haste and be the depraved dyer we all love and know so well. I have no suggestions for returning colorways as I get to play with dye this weekend at Iowa Sheep and Wool. Also I’ll just see what Toni has in her shop tomorrow. Can you say Road Trip? Marengo to Marengo. Love it and you. Hugs, Alice
(p.s. I love your password generator on this thing. nature42 nothing like it and the answer)

I would love to see Sherbet and Chickabiddy return. Most of all, I am going to miss Count Cluckula! This is my favorite colorway of all time and I hope its vacation is very short!
Thanks for such great yarn and colorways. You bring so much joy to us through your work. Please remember this when you are preoccupied with the Summit!

I would like to see a deeper pink/orchid shaded solid come back. Did you have a Bosenberry colorway at one time? When knitting with some colorways such as Watermelon Tourmaline or Dutch Canyon I would like to have a shaded solid to use like the darker pink in those colorways for trim or a contrast color. Thank you.

Love any and all of your colors, but the real reason I’m commenting is to send a huge THANK YOU to you and everyone else working on SS09 (even if it is cutting into other parts of your lives). I got my actual REFUND check for the double registration during the panic of 11:00 PDT on 5/26. I was amazed that the check was handwritten, the note in the card was handwritten, even the envelope was handwritten!
Wow. Thank you!

Dear Santa...oops, Tina: These are my wishes: Olive Garden, Chickabiddy, Backstabber.
I have been a reeeeeally good girl this year. I fondle all my STR and even knit with it sometimes. I always keep it picked up, esp. after rolling in it on the floor. I’ll try to do better next year, and place orders as often as possible. I’ll even try to cook dinner for my family sometimes instead of knitting. oxo, jmcmjoan
