We are thrilled beyond measure (although we did swatch) to welcome one very courageous, brilliant, creative, twisted (a prerequisite) man to the Blue Moon family/team and the Knot Hysteria team.
Everyone a very warm welcome to Stephen. Yes... that Stephen Stephen Houghton aka HizKnits today is officially the very first man on team Blue Moon and we’re thrilled. Ecstatic...overjoyed, bouncing of the walls, doing all sorts of happy dancing. Is it obvious?
Stephen and I have been working toward this goal for about a year now and all our courting, scheming, meeting in dark alleyways at midnight and working through “stuff” has paid off. It has all finally brought us full circle to this day of days.
As I was thinking of writing this announcement and what I wanted to say I had several moments. All good and the one that stands out the most was meeting Stephen for the first time with hizMom Anne at sock camp and falling head over heels for them both. Anne and Stephen are a very hard act to top.
Stephen you’re one of the finest people I know and I’m feeling many things today, not the least of which is relief. Mostly though I fell lucky. Just so very lucky.
ok dude. Ready to rock?
I’m the one who’s honored. One small step for this man, one giant leap for Blue Moon-kind.

After having the pleasure of meeting Stephen at the first Knot Hysteria retreat I left thinking what a lovely person he is. How exciting for everyone! And....it’s gotta be said.....why is it that many men who knit are named Steven/Stephen/Steve? Did I miss the boat by not naming one of my boys that?!

What a wonderful pile of awesomeness this news is! Welcome Stephen! Hope that means we’ll see you up here lots more.
But one question… [whispering] can you get Tina to dye that yarn?
Hugs to you everyone!

Whoopee! I hope Stephen is going to be at the silk retreat. I need him to sign the dollar he gave me at Cattywampus (GG). What a great addition to Blue Moon, and everyone’s experience of all things yarny.

Hey there sweet Tina and everyone who orbits around you: I have been reading the writing on the wall for more than a year, but did not expect Blue Moon and Stephen to get married so soon; I thought it would take much longer. I am wishing the Blue Moon constellation an infinite honeymoon as Stephen brings love, power, intelligence, irrepressible spirit, and shining business experience to help Blue Moon continue making an enormous and positive impact on the fiber community. Blue Moon is just at the very tip of its expanding influence, and that you had all better hang on because the ride is going to be turbo-charged. Lucky you’ve added Stephen. All blessings to all of you.

Congratulations to Stephen and Tina. Now, could someone please spell his name phonetically and put me out of my misery?
Hoffton, Hoeton, Hooton, Howton, Huffton-I’ve tried them all. I know it must seem obvious to those of you who know him. It’s far from obvious to me.

Hooray! Welcome, Stephen! I would quote Bogart and say, “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”, but of course, it’s been a friendship between the Blue Moon team and Stephen for a while now. This is just more formal adoption as part of the team!
Most excellent.

Well, Mother Knows Best. Thank you so much. I’m such a language freak that things like that stick in my mind until the problem is solved. It’s the correct time for getting ready to “ho, ho, ho!”.
