Upgrade update
Amazing what a few hours of sleep will do.
The pictures of the colorways are a bit off. They are showing as washed out and not their true vibrant saturated selves.
We are working on this and I hope to have it fixed soon. I apologize this is certainly not how I like this to roll.
We still have to add the Grinchy kit and pattern otherwise I believe everything is there. Just not accurately colored.
More testing and proofing today.
Dudette 1 and 2
It was so interesting and entertaining to see all of the responses to choosing which Dudette for the Dude. It also backfired on me.
I really do need to watch how many colors are available on the site because of time, space … just the reality of making everything work well.
As I was reading through your responses,I felt so thrilled that some of you were getting the dilemma I have in choosing between colors. However the more I read the more I realized there was no way I could not put both of them up.
I do not like sad knitters and certainly not my knitters. (Did you know you were my knitters?)
So the surprise is, The Cookie Next Door, is actually Dudette 2. Which means they are both present and accounted for!!
Personally,while I like them both I have to say, and this shocked me completely. I prefer The Cookie Next Door. ( I know! hehe ) Never going to get tired of hearing that one.
Below are swatches of the them both. Could not resist.
I have to confess to knitting Cookie first. I had to she was taunting me. Whispering my name every time I walked by the basket. And no, I could not have moved the basket.
You should have heard it, “Come on, knit me you know you want to. Look at this pink ( the color you say you do not like but is everywhere on the site) and brown, don’t you want to see what they will do together in stitches.” On and on it went. I admit it I am weak.
So very,very weak!

OMG Tina the new colors are fabulous. I love them.
Have to say that swatched, I’d change my vote from Dudette to Cookie – I’m not a pink person (and yes, I have noticed it all over the site – I keep hoping you’ll get into an electric blue and otherwise phase) but I like the intensity of the swatch. Thanks Tina. Now to get back to work to make the money to afford my habit.

I left my post before I looked at the site – the Spirits are wonderful, even though I suspect they’re the ones you say are a little less saturated on the site than you had planned. My thinking is they’ll be the ones to use to try out lace or aran designs where the colour is taking a back seat to the stitch definition.
Always appreciate the impetus to work.

is great to see both dudettes knit up and i find i still like both of them but like Cookie maybe even better and was guessing (without knowing your preferences) that this might be the one that surprised you! is great to have both to select from. all the new colorways are wonderful and is hard to wait to order or….is it possible to visit and see the yarns first hand? i ask as i am visiting oregon this september and would love to make a trip your way if you have a shop open there….i’ve seen some comments that lead me to think you do but haven’t seen anything on this site that says that specifically (or perhaps i’ve just missed it).
i originally liked dudette #1 more but after seeing the colors knitted up, i am in LUV with dudette #2 (the cookie next door). the colors are so rich and blend together so nicely. makes me want to go make some gingerbread.
The new colors are AMAZING, Tina! I have what may be my largest order yet in line to be ordered. That’s a scary situation.
Right on! The Cookie Next Door was my fave, too…you just can’t go wrong with pink…resistance is futile!!
Ha. Ha. I voted for #2 – and as soon as I saw the Cookie Next Door – I new that was #2! Way to go…now I have to buy three….YIKES! I had just purchased some of the skeins going on vacation! Your colors are just so scrumptious!

Good luck with fixing the color in the pics. To me, it looks like too much flash, so much that it gives the colors that 50/50 silk/merino sheen. And as I was looking at Quilla in the Spirits page, it looked so much grayer than the Quilla pic in the shaded solids page.
Despite the pic color issues, I am so in love with so many of the new colorways.

How do you ever have room for all the new colors (in your head) and a new sock club color coming up on us so soon? Given the new colors, all so beautiful, I can’t even imagine what we’ll be getting. It is mind boggling to have to choose. How can one? I still love Gingerbread Dudette #1; although I liked to see them knit up side by side. It is so good to have them both to chose from. You are a genius. Oh well, back to the lab so I can pay for my Blue Moon addiction. Colorgirlie is a good name for you by Irishgirlie!

The new colors are beautiful. You are so talented. Once I find a job I will have to place an order for some of the new colors and holiday ones. I have a baby to knit for and I think the Spirits will be perfect for it.
A quick suggestion: It would be really amazing to get all the new colors in one section – or tagged as new – so that I can easily just add all the new colorways to my cart at one time.
Sorry Jill, we are working within a shopping cart system and it is not a feature it has. I do have a wish list to program into it and that is at then top.
So Grinchy is living up to its name. Still working on getting it there. Our goal for the color fix is by tomorrow evening. Sorry for the length of delay. There has to be adjusting.

Love so very much The Cookie Next Door ( see never gets old) and it makes me feel a bit easy to admit it.
There are two that just make me feel happy. I am told I get a pretty silly grin on my face when I hold them– Muckity Muck and Jabberwocky.

I posted that I could not pick between Dudette 1 & 2. I felt slightly more drawn to #2, but then would look at #1 again and couldn’t choose.
Before I read this post, I went to browse and add more to my cart (I really need to check out already…lol). I checked out Gingerbread Dude and Dudette and the other Holiday colors. I decided on The Cookie Next Door. Imagine my surprise when I came here to find it was actually Dudette #2 under a new name…lol

DH loved the name ‘The Cookie Next Door’. Absolutely loved it. In between chuckles, he muttered something about ‘Cheeky’. (yes, this does increase my chance of yarn acquisition)
Tina, I have to ask: on the wall of colour, there is a beautiful blue with some brown near the upper right corner. What is that? It’s either right next to or two to the left of a red.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Re the Blue Brick Wall – thanks Tina. I’ve put it on my list for the next order. The new swatches really help for the Spirits – every time I look at them I think Aran socks. Off to the cables book to do some swatching.
After receiving my “Gingerbread Dude” and “Gingerbread Dudette” yesterday (9/7/08), I decided that I had to have “Cookie” too. The story behind the threesome is just too much fun! I did vote for “Dudette”, but “Cookie” looks fabulous–just like a dancer who’s all decked out to go on stage. No doubt that’s how she caught the Dude’s eye.
