Shipping Module Issue
Every year when USPS changes ups the rates our antiquated Shipping module has a bit of a spasm.
We then have to make it tea, hold it’s hand and help it through this change, which is what we are in the process of doing.
While we do this today,it is not going to let you choose your preferred option.
If you can hold of on your order until later today this will all we resolved. The website will be down for a few moments at some point today.
It will be a mere moment, hardly noticeable at all.
Thanks for your patience!
In other news: My wood stove is not working and way below freezing here this morning.
Brrr… .
And… I made a very sexy dark and dreamy purple yesterday. I have a great big crush on it and walked around the barn holding it up to all the other colours so they could meet and see if they wanted to play together. They do!
Rosie wants to paint her walls this hue, all of them.
It does not have a name yet if anyone has any ideas?
Comments are closed.
Now you have hijacked my work day….
The first thing I thought of whas Grimace from the old McDonald’s days….so Grimace Grape
Voluptuous Viloet
Rock the Risque
Twilight comes to mind…….
“Big Crush”
“Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple
“Tattoo You”
It reminds me of the color everything gets stained when I am jamming (or cooking) with freshly picked blackberries so of course that color has a sweetness to me. Blackberry Heart isn’t quite right. Blackberry Dream? I need to stop or I’ll do this all day.
It looks like “Purple Majesty” potatoes. Beautiful!
Oh, it’s luscious. I second the blackberry reference.
Blackberry obsession?
Heart of summer? Blackberry season is always the height of my summer canning/baking/gardening.
I love that dark purple. Violetta or Violetta Velvet, is what that colour evokes to me. Like the dark velvety blooms of some African violets.
Poison Plum
… slightly Twilight-ish, but “New Moon”? It’s the same deep purple as the sky on nights without moon.
Pretty! Three ideas:
Blackthorn
Good Girls Won’t (But I Will)
Goths in the Stash
Apassionata?
Midnight promise
Ooooh, I love it! Purple is my favorite and I have a little girl on the way in Spring, so I’m already envisioning what I can make her for next winter. This color looks perfect!
As for color, another of my favorite things are Marionberries. When I have friends go to the Pacific NW, I have them bring me back Marionberry Jam since you can’t get it anywhere else. So, my suggestions are:
Marionberry Jam
Midnight Marionberry
reminds me of a song-“When deep purple falls over sleepy garden walls” by Nino Tempo and April Stevens in 1963. I love it.
Enchanted Sky. Can’t wait to see the playmates together.
Whatever the color name, I would like some now… because I’m ready to place and order and want to add it to my cart…. hope it’s available before the rest of the colors I want are taken out of rotation so I only have to place one order.
Sumptuous Berry
Midnight Blackberry
Come Hither to Me You Sweet Luscious Berry
Velvet Midnight
I’d like some now please
It reminds me of the dark purple at sunset just before it goes totally dark out. Very very gorgeous, can’t wait to buy some.
Name idea:
Pleione (fast spinning purple star)
It reminds me of the iridescant beetles that I find in my garden when I first start working the earth in the spring. Maybe name it after one of the beetle species here in the PNW. Barring that, I love the name Pleione suggested above
Purple Passion.
Good luck naming this beautiful color, so many great suggestions.
Hope you get warm/heat.
Smiles,
Into the Void.
Reminds me of the remains of a really good cabernet… deep, sweet, fruity, and thoroughly enjoyed. Spilled Cab? Wasted Cab?
Love the color! A couple of naming ideas:
it was a dark and stormy night
space at night
How about
“Tall, Dark, and Sexy”
or
“It does it for me”
Sweet lovers we’ll always meet
(who else watched Donnie and Marie?)
Like Kath, I was thinking something along the lines of “Tall, Dark and Handsome”…but the following also came to mind:
– The Cure (Because it reminds me of Robert Smith for some gorgeous reason, plus there is very little that purple can’t cure)
– Crush with Eyeliner (because it also reminds me of REM, even though Michael Stipe himself is bright Orange in my mind)
– Lila (Because my co-worker highlights her hair a lovely dark purple)
Crushed Grape or Ripe Plum
First thing that come to mind is Blackberry Treacle.
No name ideas. Just wanted to say that to hear that you have a crush on a purple makes me smile!
Tamara
Deep, dark, mysterious!
Ohhhh- I love the name-game! How about one of these:
-Sexy in Scappoose, or Midnight in Scappoose
-That’s Why The Lady is a Vamp, or The Lady is a Vamp
-ValenTina’s Secret, or Tina’s Sexy Secret
-Velvet Violet Valentine
-Apropos? AproPurple!
-Royal Intrigue
-A Darker Shade of Midnight (I looked at the color & I have Annie Lenox’s “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” playing in my head)
Ok, more:
-More, Moor, Midnight
-Midnight Supernova
-The Queen’s Wrath
-Nightfall Cloaked in Velvet, Or Nightfall Cloaked in Violet
-Frostbite at Midnight
-Purple Midnight’s Majesty
-Done With A Plum or, Aplomb
-Cabernet in Camelot
Aegean-the wine dark sea
I love the name “Tattoo You” that Christina suggested, or the blackberry reference!
Xanthophobia: the fear of the color yellow
mine, all mine
Blackberry Bush, or Blackberry Patch.
Wine Dark Sea.
Tell Rosie I had walls that color for years, big rooms with 14 foot ceilings in an old New Orleans House on Bourbon Street. It’s a wonderful color that changes it’s mood depending on the light.
Years ago, a psychiatrist friend of mine said that whenever he went to the institutions, you could count on all the hysterics to be wearing purple. For him, purple meant hysteric. So Hysteric or “Hiss”teric. If I weren’t rushing out the door, I’d work on wordplay. Handsome color.
I was thinking,
Purple ….for her pleasure or My heart’s desire, because it really is!
It’s beautiful.
Purple heart.
“A Taste of Blackberries”
or
“In the Midnight Hour”
wow, you make it wonderful. It looks nice.
http://www.topckit.com
“Midnight Royale”
although I also like all the Blackerry names.
Please post photos beside the other colourways!
WANT!
Vintage Aubergine
Dusty grape sounds good to me.
Sooooo many excellent suggestions. I also like “Purpure”. The heraldic color purple.
I don’t envy you the job of choosing. Perhaps there will be more dyeing inspired by the names? Good luck and thank you for doing what you do!
I like ripe eggplant.
Is it for me?
Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’
or
Oyster Hearts, for that lovely purple inside the shells.
Grapefully Yours
for a wee touch of the macabre: Two day bruise.
Why not just name it how you described it?
Sexy, Dark, and Dreamy
Sums it up pretty well…huh?
Oh I think I’m in LOVE! How about Raven’s Wing?
I want to dye my hair this color:)
How about purple haze or purple rain? Beautiful.
Passionatly Purple
Dusk
Will there be some at Madrona?
Mine, All Mine!!!
I love love love this color! I can’t wait to see what you pair it with.
What about the obvious–sexy dark and dreamy purple?
Wonderful Tina..I would call it Midnight Lights…its the dark part that the Northern Lights shine on..
my panther. I’d love to have this.
Poe
Enough said on that.
lovelovelove this!
Tender is the Night
Oh My Goodness, how beautiful!! How about Sexy Dark and Dreamy Purple!! You already named it Miss Tina!!
That is the deep rich purple of the Cosmic Twilight.
My vote is for In the Gloaming.
I think you’ve already named it: Sexy, Dark, and Dreamy. But here are others: Lost Lenore, Nothing More, or Flirt and Flutter (because the dark and dreamy reference reminds me of “The Raven”); I like Flirt and Flutter best of the three.
How about “Hush”? Song by band Deep Purple…
I second Cosmic Twilight. I don’t care what you call it, really. I just want some
What’s a dyer to do? There are so many wonderful names here.
Surely it is a member of the Raven clan?
good post, will come back later
Mystique! It is really great.
the Dark Princess
Ms. Midnight
I love, love, love this! I want to buy it as soon as it is available.
As for a name, how about “Murasaki” – Japanese for “purple”, and the name of the author and heroine of the old Japanese book Genji Monogatari (The Tale of Genji), Murasaki Shikibu.
To me it looks like the shadows of trees in a watercolor painting.
“Shadows in the Forest”
So what name you gave to it? You have got plenty of name options given!!
“Once upon a time”
Great write-up, I
