Record breaking snowfall

image

Since it is the season of giving, I GIVE.

We give up. We give in. We give out.

We give and I am done fighting with the elemental forces that are now breaking records.  At least they are here in the Pacific Northwest.

I mean really if Mother Nature is going to go to all the trouble making such a winter to do, especially in the flaky really cold white stuff falling from the sky and covering every surface imaginable realm.

She is clearly exceeding her personal best here and I do believe she has quite a bit more at her disposal.

So dearest, most powerful Mother Nature, we here at Blue Moon humbly and most graciously (yarn in hands) bow to you!

We take our lovely knit hats off to you and say way to go with the snow.

You really are rocking this whole snowy winter wonderland thing.

What this means order wise is we are doing our very best to get you your yarn.

There are only two of us here trying to get orders out.

This will last as long as the power does ( it has already gone down once this weekend) and as long as Don can get to the P.O. without risking life and limb.

Email is the best way to get in touch with us right now. The phone system does not do well in these conditions.

Thank you for your patience.

Be safe and stay warm!

  1. I’m pretty sure I speak for legions of your customers that we love you, we know you are doing your best, we know Mother Nature is kicking butt and taking names this year (22” of the white stuff in my yard now) and your yarn is worth the wait.

Hugs and Kisses from the Frozen Northeast.

    The softest thing on earth

overtakes the hardest thing on earth.

    The non-existent overtakes even that

    which has no interstices.

Ummm… yeah.  And still struggling to accept that my flight yesterday has not happened, will not happen today, and *might* actually happen tomorrow (with a real seat booking)…

As one who lives in the south, I am slightly jealous of your snowfall.  Slightly.  Although I complain about Christmas shopping in 70 degree weather, I’m still able to go about my daily business without interference from mother nature.  I hope you have a stress free holiday week, and although your yarn is ‘to die for’, it’s not worth risking life and limb.  I only wish you could send a jar of real snow to SC with my order.  I think that’s all I’d be capable of handling!

  4. OMG!! Look at all that snow just to GET to the barn!!  Thank goodness the yarn is safely protected inside!  Wow wow wow!!

I know it probably sucks, but look at how gorgeous it is!!  I mean, if ever I could get Snowboarder up to blue moon land, well these pictures would do it!  But big big hugs and warm warm warm wooly hats to you!!

Give in—make a cup of tea, sit by the fire, knit a gift smile.  Play outside and make an angel or two.  Who knows, the next big color concept might come while you’re looking up at the snowy sky…

Welcome to Iowa last winter. Record snow, record ice, record cold. But as you say it’s not worth life and limb to go out in it sometimes. Now as to yarn. I’m one of the fortunate many who have received one of my yarn orders just today. It’s wonderful. Hugs to you all, Happy Holidays. Take some time off and enjoy the snow. Make snow forts, snow angels, go skiing (either kind), sledding. Or just stay inside, warm and toasty with tea or cocoa or mulled wine or hot cider and a big pile of fun knitting. Or take the trudge over to the barn and do what you do best and dye up some more wonderful yarn in new colors from your amazing imagination. Life is good, Alice

  7. I’m suddenly remembering news reports of a few years ago of an extremely rare snowfall in the Middle East.  Palestinians and Israelis were tossing snowballs cheerfully at each other and totally chilling out.

Peace in the season to you and yours.

In your shoes (and mine) I sing. “Oh the weather outside is frightful…”

It also helps to watch my little angels make their own angels in the snow.

I gave up (officially yesterday) and now am the happy holiday hot chocolate servant to my school-less cherubs. lol

I did happen to finish mom’s christmas presy though!!!

thanks for working so hard for us!!

Like the first commentator, I think that your many, many fans understand that you are snowed in, and that Mother Nature is the reason for any delay in their orders.  Heck, even the USPS took longer than usual to get my first two orders (shipped 12/18) out of Oregon and delivered to Northern California (received 12/22).  Take all the time you need to fill my third order, because I’ve got lots of BMFA yarn to play with!  And take it easy on yourself, because it’s almost Christmas!

Enjoy the white stuff.  We here in Henderson got 8 inches of the stuff (9A to 1A constant snow).  We are a mere 20 minutes from the Las Vegas strip and in the high desert, we are not supposed to have the white stuff stick!  It did, it was gorgeous, but it took me 8 hours to drive to CA to enjoy Christmas by going the back way to avoid all mountainous roads.  A wonderful holiday to all of you, can’t wait to get back to NV to see my yarn purchase.

  13. I knew you were in for more when my mom’s plane had to wait on the tarmac to make room for the Honolulu-Seattle flight that got redirected to Oakland.

Hope all is well with you otherwise.

Happy Holiday to you, your family and all your Socketeers!

As everyone has said, it isn’t worth all the effort to push so hard! As the saying goes, “Stop and smell the roses” and in this case, the snow and the pine trees.  Once the packages get to the post office, they don’t rush like you have to do anything with them.  They are just sitting on them because the planes aren’t going anywhere.  So, really, enjoy your family and this time, we will get our “joy” when we are suppose to and all will work out as it is intended.  We can’t control it!!!! Ahhh, how we wish we could sometimes!!!!

    Hang in there!!!!

Maybe you can go make an angel in the snow with the kids!!!
